Arsenal planning swoop for Monaco midfielder?
Arsenal are planning a surprise move to sign Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana at the end of the season.
The Gunners are expected to land a new holding midfielder in the summer and they are looking at multiple choices.
Fofana has now emerged as an option and Foot Mercato claim that they could make a proposal in the coming weeks.
The Frenchman was on the radar of Fulham and Nottingham Forest last summer, but he rejected proposals from both.
He made it clear that he wanted a bigger challenge and could be tempted to join the Gunners when the transfer window reopens.
Monaco have not mentioned any asking price, but it has been claimed that he could be prised away for around €30 million.
Chelsea and Manchester United have also been credited with an interest, but Arsenal should have an advantage in the race.
They are on the cusp of Champions League qualification while Chelsea and United look set to miss out on the same next term.
